Illustrations

I find comfort and self-expression through art, whether in traditional forms like pens, pencils, and paints on paper or digital canvases. Recently, I've embraced the challenge of illustrating portraits and creating personalized gifts for various occasions. I enjoy transforming imperfect or blurry photographs into lasting memories that can be framed and displayed with pride. My portfolio includes a range of illustrated wedding invitations, heartfelt birthday cards, and lovingly crafted couple portraits. I've also had the privilege of contributing graphics to a tabletop game. My hope and goal for my art is to bring people together, spreading kindness and happiness through my work.

Game illustration

BibleIT on table - the game box semi-opened with cards and tokens spilling out. A small tote bag to place the tokens is visible in the box

I designed illustrations for 66 playing cards, 33 tokens, and game packaging.

In this game, each card represents a book from the Bible. I abstracted each book into visual illustrations using design software applications to create the card illustrations, ensuring compatibility with the gameplay strategy. The designs underwent rigorous verification processes by chosen members of authority on the Bible, play tested, and revised multiple times before its release. This experience honed my ability to graphically abstract complex concepts and create visually attractive and contextually meaningful designs.

The process of creating the illustrations for this game is published in the online design magazine, SCALE.

Portraits

Portrait for "Stories From The Streets: Up Close With Real Change," a new exhibition at The Seattle Public Library in partnership with Real Change – and it's on display until June 16th!

This exhibition isn't just about art; it's about humanity. It confronts the dehumanization of those experiencing poverty, homelessness, or addiction. Through stunning portraits, it dismantles barriers and introduces you to Real Change vendors as individuals. Each portrait reflects their resilience, strength, and dignity. As one vendor poignantly said, "Nothing says someone cares about you than getting a portrait done." This project aims to humanize, uplift, and inspire empathy and understanding.

The following are just a few of the portrait illustrations I have done for various clients. Each of them helped spread happiness and capture moments that they wished could stay forever. To see the complete stories, please visit my Instagram account at namkon.art

Label Design

Craft and design distinctive merchandise labels, ensuring they not only represent the product effectively but also resonate with the target audience to enhance brand recognition and appeal.

Logo Design

Designing and creating a logo for clients is possibly one of the most challenging projects. A single graphic needs to capture their brand values, personality and identity while illustrating their goals. This then will be used as their face in all marketing and publicity purposes.

Logo of Mind Matters

Mind Matters is a counselling center providing mental health services based in Ernakulam, Kerala, India.

They were looking to improve their visual presence with logo that aligns with their principles. After brainstorming discussions with them to clearly understand their needs and values, this logo was created illustrating their goal of achieving a peaceful mental state for all their clients.

Logo of Amber Sweeney

Amber Sweeney is a highly sought-after performer, soul/rock singer, songwriter, and recording artist.

She wanted a complete makeover of her online website including a new logo. Her old logo, she felt, did not capture her essence and passion. She envisioned a logo with an ‘A’ and ‘S’ but in the shape of a heart - this would illustrate her initials with her brand identity of putting her heart in every song. This logo was designed and created for her which, in her manager's words, is artistic, detailed, and complicated. Just like Amber’s personality!’

To promote her brand identity, possible merchandise options were ideated. Mockups for these were then created to provide them with an understanding of the various ways the new logo could be utilized.
